Kickstarter for Calgary Digital Expo

Online video is full of innovation and creativity. It’s hard to believe that YouTube only started in 2005, and since then has grown to be a multi-billion dollar industry that includes multiple companies. It’s a place where niches thrive and underrepresented people have found a voice. It’s because of a desire to support and honour this industry that the Calgary Digital Expo was created.
The Calgary Digital Expo (or Dexpo) was started by local creators and organizers Matt Mort, Jeremy Dirom, Jonathan Burkinshaw, Steven Lazarowych, and Kyle Marshall. Their commitment is to make a convention that features local video talent, provide networking opportunities, and to spread education with sessions featuring experts.
If you are a fan of online video, or if your job includes video creation, Dexpo is a local convention that will be a must go. There are large conventions in other cities around the world, but nothing available in Western Canada.
The organizers have started a Kickstarter for the first year of Dexpo. This allows the ball to start rolling. It’s better to start small and to grow big. You can help support the Dexpo, and receive deep discounts by going here: bit.ly/calgarydigitalexpo
