The Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lens is a beautiful telephoto, and if you have one, you have probably fallen in love with everything this lens can do. You may have also noticed that when using auto-focusing (AF) at close-range with the focus distance approximately set to the Tele-end, that your images may be a little front-focused. Well, I have some excellent news for you. Those two amazing words, firmware update!

Canon has confirmed that there will be a firmware update coming early January 2020! This will help improve focus accuracy for the RF 70-200mm, a great update for the new year.

The new firmware being released is for lenses equipped with firmware version 1.0.5 or earlier, which can be checked in your camera’s menu.

To get ready for this release, please register your RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM, and you will be notified about future announcements!
