Submissions are now open for the Mountain Photo Essay Competition and the Signature Image Submission for the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival.

The Mountain Photo Essay Competition, proudly sponsored by The Camera Store, is accepting submissions of essays that are 3-5 photos long and tell a story related to mountain culture, adventure, environment, sports, or natural history. Submissions are due by May 1st, 2019. The winner receives $2000 and a chance to attend the 2019 Photo Festival.

The Festival is also now accepting submissions for the Signature Image contest. The winning image for this will receive international attention as the “cover” image for the Festival and World Tour, as well as $2500 and tickets to attend events at the 2019 Festival. Submissions are due by March 4th, 2019. Images can be taken anywhere in the world, as long as they reflect the mountain theme presented by the festival. Additional guidelines can be found here.

The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival brings together filmmakers, writers, artists, photographers, and legends of the mountain culture for nine days. The 2019 Festival will run in Banff, AB, from October 26th to November 3rd, 2019. Lineups and details for the 2019 Festival will be announced in early August.
