Wrong Side of the Tracks Urban Industrial Photography Workshop

Join photographers Greg Gerla and Julya Hajnoczky for an exciting day-long photographic adventure in the industrial park!
We’ll take you to all the best spots and help you make the most of them. The Highfield industrial area has been in use since the fifties, so you’ll get a chance to see some wonderful historic buildings ranging from huge old flour mills to tiny welding shops and quirky salvage yards. If twisted metal, peeling paint and rusting pickup trucks are your thing, this workshop is for you.
A full day of shooting in this rich environment accompanied by two professionals will give you ample opportunity to learn and experiment with landscape, architecture, portraiture and macro photography. We help you explore new and creative ways to shoot in this unique location, while also offering you technical tips and instruction to enhance your images.
The morning session will include demos and hands-on shooting practice as we explore the area, while the afternoon session will show you how to use these engaging locations as a backdrop for beautiful portraits. A professional model will be present for demos and for participants to work with. Learn to see the details often overlooked by the average eye, and discover techniques to help you tell the story of the place through unique images that you create.
