Wooden Niccolls Cinema Scene Screening

  By Jordan Drake

Creating Wooden Niccolls episodes has quickly become my favourite type of project for TCSTV. In these episodes, Chris and I find famous movie scenes and attempt to recreate it with a new camera with the help of the filmmaking community. We knew it would be fun to shoot these, but we didn’t expect the enormous support we would receive. From our debut episode where Chris, Levi Holwell and I froze on a hill recreating a scene from Blood Diamond, this time we had a professional crew on set, and post-production performed by world-class facilities.

Our friend Nick Thomas, a cinematographer from DDG directed and shot this new scene on the new Fujifilm X-H1 with the assistance of Ron Osiowy, Noah Fallis, Noah Leach, Kaitlyn Kerr, Ryan HK, Levi Holwell, Chris Kreiger, Chantelle Kolesnik and Evelyn Drake. Chris and I again do our best to play the leads, but this time we’re joined by Reamonn Joshee, a talented professional actor! The scene was filmed in the gorgeous Untitled Champagne Lounge, over the course of an afternoon. Local audio masters at 6 Degrees Studios handled the sound mix, and Tyler Roth of Company 3 performed the colour grade.

As a twist, we’re debuting the Fujifilm X-H1 Wooden Niccolls episode on Friday, Feb. 16th, 2018 at the Globe Cinema on Stephen Avenue! The camera was shot and produced to cinematic standards, so we want to see how it’ll look on the big screen. We’ll be screening the Wooden Niccolls episode, and answering questions about the production. Arrive early, as the first fifty people will receive a free Big Rock beer, popcorn and an autographed Wooden Niccolls poster!

I’m incredibly excited about this screening, and truly proud of the effort everyone brought to the project. It’s a very cool experience to be able to bring TCSTV to the big screen, and I hope you’ll be able to join us!

We will also have the new Fujifilm X-H1 at The Camera Store on Saturday, Feb. 17th for a Demo Day with the Fujiguys.
