Why Choose a Canon DSLR in 2021

With the growing popularity of mirrorless cameras, is there still a reason to go for a Canon DSLR? First of all, who doesn’t love long lasting battery life and good handling? Plus, these days you can get great deal on incredibly capable DSLR cameras. Not to mention an extremely wide selection of directly mounted Canon EF lenses.

Starting this guide with a classic, entry-level camera, we have the Canon EOS Rebel SL3. The 24-megapixel Rebel SL3 gives you a great shooting experience. It’s compact and feels great in the hand. Plus it has an intuitive menu system, perfect for first-time photographers.

Next is the Canon EOS 90D. This 32-megapixel model provides a bigger, weather-sealed body.  Featuring a fast 11 frames per second shooting speed, the Canon EOS 90D gives you better performance and higher resolution.

The third step up is the Canon 6D Mark II. It features a full-frame sensor with outstanding image quality, and great lowlight performance. This is a versatile option and well-loved by astro and lowlight photographers.

Finally, we have the Canon 5D Mark IV. This is Canon’s distinguished workhorse camera designed for pros and enthusiasts alike. It’s reliable, with sports-worthy autofocus performance, a long lasting battery, a bright optical viewfinder in a weather-sealed body.  This is one of Dave’s favourite cameras by far.
