The Camera Store is celebrating its 22nd Anniversary with an F22 Event!

  By Kaitlyn Kerr

We’re turning 22! The Camera Store has been in business since 1996, and to celebrate, we’re having an event and sale. Join us on Saturday, August 25th from 9AM to 5PM for special deals, an outdoor trade show with our vendors, prizes, demos, a food truck and more.

To start the party, the first 50 people in line will receive a random gift card valued between $10 and $500. We will have special deals on all day and our expert staff on hand to help you with any and everything camera-related. In the parking lot, we will have our vendors set up with an outdoor trade show for you to wander through, ask questions, and get your hands on some gear. We will also have some portrait demos and performances throughout the day for you to take in.

We’re also excited to welcome Jane Bond BBQ’s food truck for the event to keep you all fueled up. Fiasco Gelato will also be here with their vespa, serving up some of their premium, delicious gelato.

To finish the day, we are honoured to present an inspirational evening with master photographers William Albert Allard and Vincent J Musi at The Globe Cinema. These are both incredible photographers who we have had the pleasure of building a relationship with over the last 22 years. Each have an impressive stack of tearsheets – from National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, and Life magazines, to name a few. Allard will be sharing photos and stories from his latest collection of street photography, Paris: Eye of the Flâneur, collected over 30 years on various trips to the City of Light. Musi will be sharing a selection of his striking animal portraits, crafted through incredible patience and a little bit of his inner Dr. Doolittle. Tickets for this event are on sale now.

The Camera Store was opened by Peter Jeune and Anabela Ferreira twenty-two years ago, in a tiny little shop on the then-designated “Electric” 11th Avenue. Since then, we’ve moved twice, grown to 35 staff or so, and had the pleasure of serving the photo and video community of Calgary – and across Canada. We wouldn’t be here without our customers, so we hope you join us to celebrate the last twenty-two years, because it wouldn’t be a party without you.
