Tamron 2022 Retrospective

Taking a look back over the past year, Tamron has really made its mark in 2022. With new lens releases, the introduction of Nikon Z and Fujifilm X mounts, and the immense satisfaction of being a part of so many photographic journeys, they wanted to say thank you to all the dreamers, content creators, professionals, and those just starting their photography adventure, for making this last year so incredible!

With a lot of dedication, along with the love, help and support of their incredible customers, like you, Tamron was honoured to have won five awards in 2022. Two TIPA awards and three EISA awards marked the ninth consecutive year Tamron has been awarded TIPA recognition and seventeen consecutive years winning EISA awards.

Tamron also release five new lenses, giving creatives even more inspiration to explore!

70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD for Nikon Z

Tamron’s first “Nikon Z mount system” compatible lens combines the world’s smallest size and lightest weight together with high image quality based on Tamron’s concept of “all photographers should enjoy easy and comfortable telephoto photography.” The lens features Moisture-Resistant Construction for extra protection when shooting outdoors and BBAR Coating that boasts excellent anti-reflection performance.

20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD

You don’t use your camera in the limited ways that were predominate before digital. You capture still images, but you also shoot video, so you need a more versatile zoom, and that changes everything. Finding a zoom lens highly suitable for both stills and videos has been challenging, until now.

50-400mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD

Until now, the 70-200mm and 100-400mm zooms have been the go-to lenses for shooting sporting events. That was yesterday. Today, by starting at 50mm, this new 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 shatters those limitations. It’s the ONLY ultra-telephoto zoom that is 50mm at the wide end among lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD for FUJIFILM X

This new lens is the FUJIFILM X-mount version of the 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD features a maximum aperture of F2.8 across the entire 4.1x zoom ratio that covers the focal length range of 17-70mm, and superb optical performance. It is a small, lightweight lens equipped with Tamron’s VC mechanism to minimize camera shake.

150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD for Fujifilm

The 150-500mm F5-6.7 covers a full-frame equivalent focal length range of 225mm to 750mm, combining compact size with stunning image quality across the entire zoom range, from the center of the image to the edges. The new ultra-telephoto zoom is equipped with the VXD precise and high-speed linear motor focus mechanism and TAMRON’s proprietary VC mechanism.
