Portraits in the Wild

Studio 122 Workshop:
October 26th, 2014 8am-5pm
Join Greg Gerla and Julya Hajnoczky and spend a full day shooting on location, where you’ll learn professional strategies for taking full control of your location shoots to get great portraits – no matter what.
Sponsored by The Camera Store – Workshop participants receive special deals on purchase and rental of a variety of selected products suited for the types of photography to be covered in this event.
An intense, hands-on, full day of shooting in a variety of locations. Every location we move to will present a new and unique set of challenges, where you’ll complete tasks and assignments designed to get you thinking on your feet and learning to assess and work with whatever a location throws at you.
Your instructors will guide you throughout the day, providing demos and one-on-one assistance as you photograph models, classmates or even complete strangers. Learn about choosing gear and equipment, and the best ways to pack and prepare to shoot on location. You’ll learn to work with a wide variety of lights and light modifiers provided for the class. Get the basics on model releases, permits, and location shoot safety and etiquette. The workshop wraps up with a short critique where participants can show images from the day’s shoot and get feedback from instructors.
You’ll go home with a great new set of problem-solving tips, tricks, and strategies that you can apply to shooting portraits anywhere, anytime.
