“In a sport usually dominated by men, female surfers took over the waves this past weekend at the sixth-annual Queen of the Peak event in Tofino, B.C., at the only all-female event in the country. For the second year in a row, Hanna Scott was crowned the winner in the shortboard event, guaranteeing herself the win after pulling off a back-hand air move in the last minutes in the final heat. Twelve-year-old surfing sensation Mathea Olin wooed the crowd, placing first in the Princess of the Peak competition for girls 16 and under. She also placed fourth in the women’s shortboard and second in the women’s longboard”
