Lewis Hine, Ansel Adams, Dorthea Lange, Edward Weston and William Henry Fox Talbot; all giants of photography whose work is recognized among the finest of its kind, will be on display in Canmore at Elevation Place. The Art of Black and White Photography – Historical and Modern Perspectives runs from Feb. 13-25. A reception will take place Feb. 14 from 7-9:30 p.m.

John Dean’s new work featured at The Edge Gallery in Canmore is a series of recent photographs from the site of the 2003 forest fire in Kootenay National Park. The Photographs were made with a high resolution digital camera and are printed on beautiful cold rolled art paper.

The remote and rugged nature of the Milk River landscape is an international treasure. From its entry point into Alberta as the North Milk River near Whiskey Gap to its exit east of the ecological reserve at Kennedy Coulee, the shallow silty visitor travels through a sparsely populated, little disturbed, and infrequently visited part of Alberta.
