ONA Stylish Camera Bags

  By Evelyn Drake

Last week we received our first shipment of ONA camera bags.

Since we carry a massive selection of bags, new lines rarely receive much attention unless there is something special about them. As it turns out, ONA has delivered some of the nicest, high-quality bags I’ve seen in a long time. These bags not only hit the mark on style, build and functionality, they also are priced right from about $150-$350.

The Quality:
ONA bags are handcrafted with meticulous detail and superior materials such as full-grain cowhide leather, waxed cotton canvas, solid brass, and closed-cell foam. They are made to protect camera equipment in a stylish and elegant design.

The Name “ONA”: “In Swahili, the word ona (pronounced ō’na) means, “to feel,” “to believe,” and “to experience with the eyes.” This is the essence of photography and style.”

Ian Rowan of Men’s Journal calls ONA’s Brixton Camera Messenger Bag: “The Fashionable Traveler’s Camera Bag.”

“We like that detail, but we love being able to walk down a foreign street without causing everyone to turn and gawk at the tourist. Makes for better candids.” Read More or follow Men’s Journal on Twitter. : @mensjournal

Mary Ann Potts from National Geographic’s Adventure Blog Calls the Union Street Messenger Style Camera Bag: “The Clark Kent of Camera Bags”

“It’s the first street-oriented bag I’ve seen that effectively balances protection, stealth, and the often-overlooked ergonomic demands of pulling out a camera, shooting, and tucking it away. And if you’re going very light, as I often do, with just a body, lens, and tiny kit of essentials, the Union Street is a flawless do-anything bag. It’s a clear home run—a bag so stylish and efficient you make up trips just to carry it.” Read More.

Theano Nikitas from Photo District News reviews
the ONA Chelsea Bag: “10 Retro Style Cameras and Accessories.”

“The Chelsea from ONA is based on a traditional bowler bag design that’s perfect for photographers who want a classic and fashionable look when carrying their gear. Available in cognac or black saffiano leather with gold accents, The Chelsea can accommodate a DSLR, up to three lenses, an iPad and personal items. The fully padded interior measures 16 x 10 x 6 inches and can be carried by its rolled shoulder straps or a detachable crossbody strap.”
