Local Indie Video Workshop

  By Evelyn Drake

About the Workshop Series:
Over the course of three
months there will be 5 workshops where I will teach nearly everything I
know about video production. Everything from camera work to editing. I
will not be teaching how to use specific programs or camera’s. I will be
teaching technique. You are personally responsible for learning where
the buttons on your camera are and how your own personal editor works. A
projector and camera will be on site to show live demonstrations. The
instructor will be available for critiques of an attendee’s work between
lectures over facebook.

Instructor Bio:
Dallis Swiatek has been working professionally as a videographer in Alberta since 2008. In addition to videography and indie film making Dallis has worked on various film and TV sets. The departments Dallis has worked in include Camera, Editing, Grip, Electrics, Set Dec, and wardrobe. The list of sets worked on include: hell on wheels, inception, heartland, the right kind of wrong, Fargo, Klondike, etc etc. Dallis has for the most part limited myself to daily work so he could focus my own business. However Dallis did work for the entire first season of Fargo as an assistant editor. Dallis also worked for Corkscrew media as an assistant editor and at The Camera Store as a video specialist. Now he would like to put 8 years of experience into teaching video while continuing his business.
