A photo safari to the historic East Coulee, Atlas Mine, and townsite of Dorothy.
Join photographers Greg Gerla and Julya Hajnoczky for an exciting day-long photographic excursion to the historic area surrounding Drumheller, Alberta.
Enjoy behind the scenes access to some of the most interesting and historic sites in the East Coulee area: abandoned coal mines, 100 year old churches, schools and structures from the past…all situated in the forbidding landscape of the badlands.
A full day of shooting in this rich environment accompanied by two professionals will give you ample opportunity to learn and experiment with landscape, architecture, portraiture and macro photography. We help you explore new and creative ways to shoot these classic scenes, while also offering you technical tips and instruction to enhance your images.
A brief specially arranged tour of each site is designed to introduce you to the rich history of these fascinating places, giving you the background that will help you create insightful photographs and build your own visual narrative. The shooting session that follows will teach you to see the details often overlooked by the average eye, and offer techniques to help you tell the story of the place through unique images that you create.
The class includes an evening workshop session followed by a full day of shooting in the field.
