A Case for Authenticity in Wedding Photography
The Camera Store welcomes famed wedding photojournalism pioneer Denis Reggie to the 2015 Wedding Summit as the event’s keynote speaker. Hailed by Town & Country magazine as “the great wedding photographer of our day” and “the best of the best” by Harper’s Bazaar, Denis is credited with single-handedly revolutionizing the look of wedding photography to a more believable and timeless look. His famous photograph of the secret wedding of John Kennedy. Jr. and Carolyn Bessette – one of over two dozen he’s chronicled for the Kennedy family – landed on the cover of Life magazine and in listings of Photographs of the Year by Time, Newsweek, People and Life. He’s appeared repeatedly as a guest on NBC’s Today show and even on Oprah! including appearance on one of her popular Favorite Things episodes. He was featured in an interview on the syndicated television program Entertainment Tonight in August.
Not a fan of corny, posed images, Denis’ presentations are legendary for his often humorous and always sincere belief in authenticity in relating each couple’s unique wedding story. After sharing his intuitive perspective of the today’s market honed over his 30 year career, Denis will showcase dozens of his recent and high profile signature images – many including behind-the-scenes insight and concise explanation of techniques… and many from recent assignments being shown from this platform for the very first time.
