Coming Up: IMA Portrait & Family Photography Symposium

  By Kaitlyn Kerr

The Master Photographers International organization is hosting a symposium here in Calgary with a focus on portrait and family photography. The symposium runs from September 28th to 30th and will feature sessions from four different photographers, as well as an industry social night on Sunday. Registration for the social night is open to symposium attendees in addition to the general public, and the evening will include appetizers, a cash bar, and door prizes.

TCS clients can use the code TCS2019 for a discount off registration.

Photographers Mark Bryant, Eden Bao, Nathan Elson, and Julie Robichaud will all be giving various presentations as part of the symposium. Mark Bryant, based in Missoula, Montana, will speak to sports photography and character portraits. Maternity photographer Eden Bao will present on both the business and technical aspects of newborn and maternity photography. Calgary local Nathan Elson will present on creating successful portraits through lighting techniques and connecting with your subject. Finally, Ottawa’s Julie Robichaud will cover wedding and boudoir photography, rounding out the event.
