Book Signing: A Fling through the Highlands

Join us for a Book Signing with Nancy and Sarah Desilets at The Camera Store on Dec. 5th, 2015 from 11AM-3PM.
A Fling through the Highlands was developed in collaboration with my Highland dancer daughter, Sarah. Traveling to Scotland and watching Sarah compete inspired me to pair together these Highland dance stories and the scenery we photographed. Sarah is an accomplished photographer in her own right, and many of her photographs adorn this book. We both feel that a book devoted to the folklore behind the Highland, National and Character dances is a great way to promote Highland dancing and the Scottish culture in general. We invite you to join us and explore these stories of Highland dance folklore, and the lovely scenery of Scotland.
Nancy Desilets is known for her both her writing and her photography separately, but nothing makes her happier than when she has the opportunity to pair those two passions in one project. Nancy’s first book “A Fling through the Highlands” is a great example of just that. Not only is she the author and contributing photographer on this project, but she also put to use her project management skills, and entered the book world as a publisher. Nancy lives in the Calgary area with her husband and daughter and any number of animals and splits her time between her photography, her writing, some editing, and now publishing.
Sarah Desilets is currently pursuing an education in film and visual effects. First published as a photographer at the age of 11, her career path seems like a great choice. Her other interests are wide and varied and include Highland dance, basketball, skiing, and all things ©Marvel. Sarah is determined to work for Stan Lee, so watch out Stan, here she comes!
