New Firmware for the Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP

While many people in Calgary were prepping for the snow on Friday, which of course, was not the most pleasant surprise, Canon Canada released new firmware for the Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP! Unlike the snowfall, these updates are something to actually be excited about and look forward to. The 1.4.0 update for the Canon EOS R and the 1.3.0 update for the Canon EOS RP are more-or-less the same for each camera, but are awesome enhancements. Not many of you have probably already downloaded the firmware, let alone read about what they are about, but for anyone who was preoccupied by the snow, or anything else, here is the breakdown on these Canon upgrades.

Sony Be Alpha Event

Do you know what speed skating, dancers and dogs, Todd Korol, Sony and The Camera Store all have in common? The Sony Be Alpha event! One incredible Sunday of photographing at the Olympic Oval, thanks to Sony. What better way to celebrate the last day of summer than to shoot in the hot sun, with the leaves changing colour, super talented dancers and absolutely adorable dog models, then cooling down inside the Oval to watch an incredibly fast long track speed skating competition. It was a jam-packed day, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of how awesome it was!

Sony A9 6.0 firmware update is here!

The wait has ended for all Sony a9 users, the 6.0 firmware update is here! With anticipation building since January, and hopes that this update will keep the a9 as up-to-date as other Sony models, this is definitely a significant update. The 6.0 firmware comes with two important upgrades: Animal Eye AF, and the addition of an in-camera interval timer.

Just Announced: Fujifilm X-Pro3 Rangefinder

If you have not heard the news yet, Fujifilm just announced in a livestream the development of the X-Pro3 Rangefinder at the Fujifilm X Summit in Tokyo, Japan, earlier today. Keeping the excitement rolling, Fujifilm teased lots of wicked new designs and features, including a strong but lightweight titanium body in three colours, a hidden LCD screen and a 10th film simulation.
