Cochrane Camera Club Photo Exhibition

New Nikon Firmware Expected May 16th

Nikon has confirmed that a new firmware update for their Z6 and Z7 mirrorless cameras will be released on May 16th, 2019. Though full details of the firmware update have yet to be announced, they have indicated that an eye-detection autofocus capability will be included.

Eye-detection autofocus is something we’ve seen in Canon, Panasonic, Fuji, and Sony cameras and will be a welcome addition to Nikon’s full frame mirrorless lineup. As a step beyond face-detect, eye-detect ensures that your focus is critically locked on your subject’s eye, framing it with a smaller box to indicate which eye is in focus. This improves your hit rate and is one more tool to help you get the shot.

These are “discontinued” or rare formats formerly used in antique or collectible cameras, both large and small, that are not typically manufactured by Ilford. All films are special order and orders must be accompanied by payment in full. Cancelled orders and/or refunds will not be permitted.

Sony World Photography Awards: Photographer of the Year & More

The winners of the Sony World Photography Awards have been announced, including Photographer of the Year, presented to Italian artist Federico Borella at a London ceremony for his series Five Degrees. The work explores the impact of climate change in the farming community of Tamil Nadu in Southern India, which is facing its worst drought in 140 years, and ensuing male suicides.
