  By Ryley Smith

If you haven’t heard the news yet, Tamron has announced the world’s first* 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 all-in-one-zoom! This remarkable lens for Sony E-mount takes the convenience of an all-in-one zoom and adds the fast-maximum aperture of an F2.8, to create superb image quality and enhanced photographic application. With Tamron’s strong reputation for amazing quality, this zoom lens writes a new chapter in the history of the all-in-one zoom lens.

The 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 really is an all-in-one lens! With a lightweight and compact design, it’s at only 575g and 117mm, while still providing you outstanding performance throughout the entire zoom range! This allows for portability combined with versatility, giving you a lens that can go from wide-angle to telephoto. It has the same 67mm filter size as other lenses in Tamron’s mirrorless lens lineup, making it easier and more convenient when using polarizers and caps.

Being Tamron’s first all-in-one-zoom lens with a maximum aperture of F2.8, it’s truly exciting to see everything it can do. From landscape photography to portrait photos and snapshots, the 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 delivers finely detailed images in a wide range of shooting situations. With special LD and XLD lens elements, which helps to minimize chromatic and other aberrations, along with a BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating which offers high anti-reflective benefits and reduces ghosting and flare, you know you’ll be getting the perfect shot.

The versatile range enables diverse photographic expression, from wide-angle shooting of expansive landscapes to close-up and compressive compositions in telephoto shooting. With fast Hybrid AF, Eye AF and Direct Manual Focus (DMF), this lens is the perfect match for mirrorless cameras with any photographic style in mind!
