Abandoned Alberta – Harvest Dark Skies 2017


For the past four years, photographers Robert Scott and Scott Dimond have been offering their Abandoned Alberta Photographic Workshops. These workshops expand participant’s skills in the areas of composition/seeing and pre & post capture techniques, all the while exploring and photographing old abandoned homesteads and vehicles in Alberta. For their second workshop of 2017, the September Dark Skies Harvest Workshop will be based out of Medicine Hat and will explore the areas to the south including Red Rock Coulee, an area featuring huge red boulders (some measuring 2.5 m across).
As the workshop is scheduled around a new moon, star photography will be part of the mix to take advantage of the dark skies. This area of Alberta has an abundance of unique abandoned homesteads and this workshop offers a rare opportunity to gain access to them while receiving expert instruction on how to best photograph them. A few weekend passes remain available which includes 4 shooting excursions and 3 classroom sessions. Details can be found at:
