2022 Japan Photo Contest Is Now Open

It’s that time of year again! The Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary’s 2022 Japan Photo Contest is now open for submissions! Encouraging a connection and understanding between Japan and Canada, the 8th Japan Photo Contest is an excellent opportunity to show your love of photography and Japanese culture!

The 2022 Japan Photo Contest is open to all creatives who live in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, North West Territories and Nunavut. With a chance to win from an outstanding assortment of prizes, including the  Nikon Canada Grand Prize: Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Lens Kit, Z 5 24-50 Lens Kit, this is a fabulous and fun opportunity!

The 2022 Japan Photo Contest has four categories. Each person can submit a maximum of four photographs (one per category). Photos taken in Japan or Canada (with a Japan-related theme/subject) are welcome!

Remember, one of the main goals of the Contest is to promote awareness of various aspects of Japan’s culture while continuing to foster a positive relationship between Japan and Canada. 

This year the categories are:

  1. Nature
  2. Architecture
  3. Japanese Culture (Traditional, Food, Festivals, etc.)
  4. People & Lifestyle

Deadline to enter is October 15, 2022!

Ryley graduated in 2018 from the U of C, with a bachelor in Sociology. With a strong love for writing, and having dabbled in photography, she wanted to take her curious mind and put it towards a more fun and creative future.
