Panasonic Announces Development of S1H with 6K/24p Capability, S1 Upgrade Key

Panasonic has announced the development of another camera in their full frame mirrorless lineup: the Lumix S1H, designed specifically for film production and touting high video specs.

The camera records 6K/24p in 3:2 format, or 5.9K/30p in 16:9. It also enables full-frame 10-bit 4K or Cinema 4K at 60p, and as of writing, is the first full-frame interchangeable lens system digital camera in the world to do so. The S1H also has no recording limits in any format (provided the camera doesn’t overheat). The camera will also include V-log/V-Gamut, which will provide up to 14 stops of dynamic range.

BMFF: Youth Adventure Photo Workshop

Last year, the Banff Mountain Film & Book Festival launched a new Youth Adventure Photo Workshop that we, in partnership with Nikon, were proud to sponsor. This weekend workshop gave 13 youths the opportunity to learn the basics of photography, and shoot around the gorgeous Banff landscape under the instruction of photographer Jeremiah Marsh. At the end, each student chose one photo, which were then printed and exhibited at the Banff Public Library this past April.

Canadian Camera Conference in Calgary

The annual Canadian Camera Conference is in Calgary July 16-18, 2019. You do not want to miss this special event that is held every year in cities across Canada.

There will be 14 talented and engaging presentations on portraiture, landscape and wildlife photography, astrophotography and much more.

We are particularly excited about this all-Canadian based lineup of speakers, many of who are local photography heroes from Calgary.

The conference is being held on the beautiful SAIT campus, with accommodations, presentations, and banquet all in one place.
